Toxic Bloem vs CPI Crusaders

In the 2nd Division Plate Semi-Final on Sunday the 16th of July, Toxic Bloem played against the CPI Crusaders. Mohapi was the Umpire and the live streaming was sponsored by CPI, Good Burger and Capstone Credit.

Here are the teams that were selected.

In the first Innings, Toxic Bloem scored a respectable 158 runs, losing only 3 wickets. Jo Pretorius was well on his way to scoring his 50 but was bowled for 46 runs from 35 balls using 6 fours. Bennett Swart suffered a similar fate when he scored 45 runs from 33 balls before he was run out.

In the second innings, the CPI Crusaders batted slightly more enthusiastically, but they didn’t score any 50s either. Mike Otto, however, was punishing the Toxic team with 3 fours and 2 sixes from 28 balls to score 45 runs before Dutchy caught him with a spectacular catch. Joppie did the bowling, and it is a tragedy that we were unable to capture the catch, but it was Mike who earned the Player of the Match award.

A little later, Dutchy went to whisper something in Jo’s ear and moments later, Jaques was stumped as well.

Johannes Bekker came to clean up by scoring 44 runs from 22 balls, NOT OUT, using 7 fours. The Crusaders reached their target and won the match by 4 wickets, scoring 159/4 in 18.4 overs.

Mega-Meisters vs Bester Masters

In the 2nd Division Cup Semi-Final 1 on Sunday the 16th of July, Mega-Meisters played against the Bester Masters. Mohapi and Joppie were the Umpires and the live streaming was sponsored by Bester Butchery and Jaco van Eeden.

Here were the teams that were selected:

The first innings was launched by Bester Masters. The first 8 overs went very well where Marcu Van Jaarsveld scored his 50 runs from 22 balls, using 5 fours and 2 sixes, and NOT OUT. This performance earned him the Player of the Match Title, but this was also largely the end of their good fortune.

Darryl Knoesen also scored his 50, but he needed 49 off the 100-ball innings to do so and left the rest of the team under pressure to score more runs from what was left. By the end of their innings, they scored 147 runs, losing only 2 wickets.

Here are their Batting Stats

In the second innings, it was clear that Mega-Meisters meant business and showed why they are on top of the log. Stefan Coetzee scored his 50 runs from 35 balls, using 2 fours and a six, NOT OUT. Shaun Hickley matched him with 50 runs from 36 balls, using 5 fours, also NOT OUT.

Thereafter, runs were accumulated a bit slower until Dewald Trytsman came in to save the day by scoring 22 runs from 10 balls, NOT OUT.
